One of India's most popular radio voices, interviewers,s and talk show hosts, Tabassum Govil passed away at the age of 78 in Mumbai today. As per reports, she suffered a massive cardiac arrest on the evening of 18 November. It is being said that a prayer meeting will be organized in her memory on 21 November.
Tabassum started as a child artist. Her most iconic and popular show was Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan where she used to interact with celebrities. His presentation of interviews became the template for Indian talk shows in later years.
She was born as Kiran Bala Sachdev in Bombay in 1944. She made her debut in 1947 as Baby Tabassum. Tabassum was married to Vijay Govil, the brother of popular TV star Arun Govil.
