Rani Mukerji, the diva of Bollywood, marked her 27th year in the Indian film industry recently. Her cinematic journey began with the 1997 movie Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, which led her to become a prominent figure in Bollywood. Since then, Rani has showcased her versatile acting skills through a multitude of noteworthy movies.
Overjoyed with the milestone, Rani shared her thoughts on the remarkable journey. She admitted that it hardly feels like 27 years have gone by since her debut. In a public statement, she reminisced about her experience while working on Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat. The lessons and memories from that movie will always remain close to her heart.
Rani also mentioned that as a newcomer, she did not fully grasp the incredible world of cinema she was entering at that time. Unlike other aspiring actors who dreamt of joining the industry, Rani's entry into Bollywood felt more like something she was asked or told to do. Despite not understanding much initially, she embraced the opportunity and eventually made a lasting impact on Indian cinema.
Her remarkable career is an inspiration for many aspiring actors, and her diverse choice of movies over the years has only further solidified her status as one of Hindi cinema's finest performers.
The actress also remembers a time when she thought about becoming an interior designer. But she believes that if she hadn't picked acting, she wouldn't have received the same love and support from the public for 27 years. She said, "I've built a family beyond my own, which means a lot to me. Our fans might not know this, but the excitement we feel when we see their love makes us work even harder."
She also talked about the day her first movie, Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, came out. She shared that her family was going through a tough time back then. She mentioned her dad's heart surgery and said, "It also reminds me of when my dad was having an important heart surgery, and he still went to see my first movie in Gaiety Galaxy. He got discharged from the hospital that day! I can never forget how he cried happily seeing the love I got from the audience, clapping and whistling at my dialogues! That memory will stay with me forever. His excitement, pride, and love for me are more than words can explain. Finally, his daughter became a movie star, something he never imagined for me."
