The upcoming Marathi period drama Sher Shivraj has been in the news ever since it’s announcement. Makers recently unveiled the trailer of the film and several character posters. Now the next in line is the gripping look of well known actor Ajay Purkar as Subedar Tanaji Malusare. The Pawankhind actor looks intense with a beard, big moustache and turban.

Director Digpal Lanjekar shared Ajay’s look as Tanaji on the official social media page of Sher Shivraj and captioned it, “आमच्या छात्या तुमच्यावरचं वार झेलायला हायीत राजं ... सुभेदार तान्हाजी मालुसरे @ajay.purkar.” 

Interestingly, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn too played the role of Tanaji in the Bollywood film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior with aplomb. Now Ajay Purkar will be essaying the same role and fans are super excited. Sher Shivraj also stars Chinmay Mandlekar, Mrinal Kulkarni, Sameer Dharmadhikari and Mukesh Rishi, among others. It will focus on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s unique war tactics along with the assassination of Afzal Khan. The film is slated to release theatrically on 22nd April 2022.
